Summary:
The staff nurse is a member of the health care team who has primary responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, directing, administering, and evaluating patient care to an assigned group of patients for a designated timeframe. Patient care is provided via facilitation, delegation and communication using the nursing process, functional health patterns, and holistic therapeutic modalities in collaboration with interdisciplinary health care team members.
This
position
directs the patient care team and collaborates with the interdisciplinary health care team to provide patient care. The RN is the patient advocate from admission to dismissal from the acute healthcare setting, interacting with internal and external customers on behalf of the patient /family.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND EDUCATION
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN). Licensed (currently) as registered nurse in
indiana
. Advancement within Clinical Enhancement Program (CEP) is contingent upon the successful completion of the application process for the level for which a nurse is applying. Nursing management holds the final decision on all promotions.
CN-I nurse must successfully complete hospital orientations, hold licensure in State of Indiana, demonstrate proficiency in over 50% of CN-I accountabilities, and be promoted to CN-II within one year.
CN-II education as a registered nurse, demonstrate proficiency in over 75% of CN-I accountabilities after one year of promotion to CN-II
CN-III educational requirement as registered nurse, however, BSN is recommended. Retention as CN-III, is required yearly.
CN-IV educational requirement is registered nurse, plus MSN. Retention, as CN-IV, is required yearly.

Qualifications:
BSN required for all external RN applicants.
General nursing orientation for all departments is 2 weeks long, Mon-Fri 8a-4:30p, for ALL nursing positions, regardless of full or part-time status.
The Nursing Resources Float Pool supports nursing care delivered at CRH on the medical/surgical units including the Progressive Care Unit, the Nursing Rehabilitation unit, and the Joint and Spine Unit. Less often, the Float Pool supports the Emergency Department and the Critical Care Unit to care for low risk monitor patients. Orientation to the nursing units is provided and individualized to the applicant's skill and knowledge base. Applicants applying for positions should demonstrate flexibility to working on different units or areas. The Float Pool is a great way to experience many areas where nursing care is provided at CRH.
PRN requirements are to be scheduled a minimum of 24 hours/6 week schedule, with weekend & holiday rotations required. However, orientation is expected at a full-time level for the first several weeks.
The base pay for Staff RN positions is $20.94 per hour. If an offer is to be extended, experience related to this position is taken into consideration. An applicant with (0) experience related to this position can expect the pay to be equal to the base pay for this position.
If the position requires weekends and holidays, additional money is earned on the hour for shift differentials and Sunday and Holiday premiums. In addition, PRN positions are offered a 15% premium on the base hourly rate for maintaining PRN status.
