Qualifications : Bachelors Degree in Engineering
Skill Set:
Knowledge and experience of Engine Combustion Dynamics and System Calibration.
Knowledge of simulation techniques, power train component modeling and methods is desirable not required
Knowledge and experience with medium or heavy duty truck powertrain components is desirable not required
Experience with various PC applications/languages is desirable (MS-Excel,CANalyzer,Matlab,VisualBasic)
Understand factors effecting Powertrain performance and fuel economy.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication skills, verbal and written
Ability to work individually and in a team environment
Responsibilities:
Key work area is in the research, development and integration of critical technologies focused on vehicle powertrain optimization for fuel economy, emissions, drivability, and transient performance.
Component size and performance requirement optimization
System integration and interfacing
Novel system management algorithm development
Telematics and human machine interface
Sensor and actuator suite optimization
Support vehicle and sub components model development and analysis efforts (PSAT, AVL Cruise, GT-Power, CyberApps, TestBench, TestCell, etc.)
Support vehicle layout and subassembly layout planning
Support activities required for successful product/documentation handoff to production introduction teams
Write and execute test plans in test cells and test vehicles related to supported R&T projects .
Ensure high-quality data is gathered when needed to support algorithm development and controls tuning needs. Demonstrate capability to check data quality before using the data for analysis.
Participate as a capable member of system, controls, vehicle and test engineers in calibrating controls for a particular Technology Development or Technology Integration Project.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
