Summary:
This position is responsible for accounts payable, banking activities and other general support functions within the accounting department.
This position generates a high volume of transactions on a daily basis.
This position requires a high degree of customer service capabilities to assist group companies varying needs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES /
Essential Functions:
Accounts payable functions Check, verify and process invoices Prepare payment runs Sort, code and enter accounts payable data Analyze discrepancies and unpaid invoices Maintain vendor master data Concur employee expense management Manage corporate cards and monthly statements for group companies Maintain prepaid accounts and fixed assets Lead physical inventory Banking functions Process wire transfers request Prepare intercompany payments Set-up wire and ACH templates Monitor bank balances Trouble shoot banking issues Provide customer service assistance to group company with banking issues Prepare annual 1099 and T4A tax forms for multiple companies General support functions Update, verify and maintain accounting journals and ledgers and other financial records Assist in month end closing and reporting Find and use accounting data to resolve accounting problems and discrepancies Assist with employee expense reports Liaison with other departments/customers/vendors Perform other duties as assigned by management Accounts receivable functions Function serves as back-up to A/R specialist Prepare and submit intercompany invoices Code, post and receipt payments Prepare and coordinate deposit activities Perform all necessary account, bank and other reconciliations EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar work experience 1-3 years' experience in clerical accounting CPA License preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office Working knowledge of SAP preferred Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures (GAAP) and IFRS Key competencies include:
planning and organizing, attention to detail, problem-solving, teamwork, written and verbal communication skills, and a customer service orientation PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and communicate verbally and in writing.
Duties involve moving materials weighing up to 5 pounds on a regular basis.
Manual dexterity and coordination are required to operate standard office equipment such as computer keyboard, calculator, and printer.
Work will be performed in an open office environment with cubicles.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
