Job Description:
We are looking for a Quality Engineer with automotive industry experience and preferably with powder metal.
The primary duties of the Quality Engineer is to ensure customer conformance of key characteristics in relation to all aspects of production processing; with special focus on dimensional inspection, PPAP submission, and customer communications; while working closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality departments.
Aids in program development and maintenance of programs for the CMM equipment as needed.
Develops training materials and facilitates training courses for plant personnel with specific focus on SPC data collection, abnormal condition recognition, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
Develops materials in compliance of TS16949, ISO14001, or other regulatory or customer driven requirements.
Prepares presentation materials for management, customers or other outside audiences.
Actively works with all engineering groups for new product launch or process improvements in order to ensure top quality of production output.
Facilitates or actively participates in teams that are focused on root cause analysis, continual improvement activities, and new product development; as well as
employee
training and development.
Actively interacts with customers and other external parties regarding matters relating to pertinent quality or compliance systems.
Reports quality system performance to management for review as a basis for improvement of internal systems.
Visits customers, vendors or job shop sites for quality issues, performance analysis, and/or quality system compliance.
Works in a safe manner and follows all plant safety policies; and instills safe practices while training other personnel by stressing the hazards associated with operation of specific pieces of equipment.
Works as an active member of various teams.
Leads through example with respect to professionalism and leadership in the execution and support of company policies and directives.
EDUCATION AND/OR
Experience:
Four-year college or university program certificate with a quality or business focus; and/or six years minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous automotive manufacturing experience required. Powder Metal experience preferred.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Must be proficient in utilizing various software packages including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Project
manager
and Outlook, and all quality assurance specific software.
Bottom Line Requirements:
1. Bachelor's Degree with a quality or business focus.
2. 6
years of quality engineering experience in automotive manufacturing.
3. Powder Metal experience preferred.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
